Charitivity : Goes to Hati Suci Part 1
Hello everyone,
Today I want to tell you all about an activity that I recently join these weeks. The event called "Charitivity", an event held by BINUS Square. On May 16th, me and my friends from BINUS Square visited Hati Suci Foundation which is located in tanah abang to be a volunteer in there, helping children build their own robot using scraps : unused can, bottle, pen, etc.
Hati Suci Foundation is a foundation which has the form of orphanage for girls. the girls live in here not only orphans but also girls whose parents has busy life, don't have enough money to support their live or live outside jakarta.
So, we go there using bus and the children welcoming us warmly. In the beginning, the MC asked them to choose between us volunteers, whom they want to teach them how to make a robot. The tasks for us as volunteers are to take care of the girls while they creating the robot using scraps by their own hand. Me and my friend, Nova Jingga are being chosen by Lidya, a 14 year old girl that a little bit shy. It's very awkward at first to talk with her because she is so shy and quiet. We told her to choose the material she wants to build her own robot and she looks confused, so me and my friend help her to choose some materials that can be used to create a robot. The robot materials was connected each other using "lem tembak".
At the end of the session, Lidya succeed in creating a simple robot by herself with me and Nova's help. After the girls finished creating their own robot, the event for this day is over and we say bye to all of the children in there and go back to Binus Square. We will start again our Charitivity next day.
